If a character were offered the contract by Kyubey, what would they do? Assuming an AU where people of any gender or age could be contracted. SPOILERS FOR MADOKA IF YOU HAVEN’T SEEN MADOKA FOR THE LOVE OF GOD READ NO FURTHER

Ghinius would probably be one of the types Kyubey would go out of his way to make a contract with. He’s in a position of power, is full of despair and doesn’t have the self worth to think twice about throwing his life away for what he feels is the greater good. All that adds up to a cockton of magical energy plus an easy target. Ghinius would make the contract soon after first being offered (probably either wishing for the safety and success of the Apsaras, or if this is an AU or pre-breakdown something to restore honor to his family for Aina’s sake). He’d have immense power, but wouldn’t know how to really use it and would thus be a poor fighter. Assuming he’s not killed in battle, he’d spiral into despair pretty quickly and go the route Kyubey really intends for: a quick, powerful witch. Not Walpurgis Night levels of power, but still definitely more powerful than Octavia. I actually have a design for witch!Ghinius in my head (amongst other Madoka AU ideas) that’s like a horrible Silent Hill-ish Freudian marionette/doll themed thing (with mechanical parts). And unlike his magical counterpart, the witch would know how to put up a fight and probably be pretty hard to defeat.

Sad thing is, that’s a pretty good symbolic representation for what happens to him in canon. Ghinius was apparently made to be Meguka ._.

Based on recent thinkings about Oncie: what would various characters do if they were in a relationship that turned abusive or otherwise unhealthy?

Ghinius: as long as the person isn’t leaving him or threatening to leave him, I think he’d just shut up and take it and deny and ignore what was happening at all costs. On his end he’d probably be at least emotionally manipulative at times, if not outright emotionally abusive (I can’t see him being physically or sexually abusive though). I think his awareness of what’s going on and how serious it is would be pretty limited at best. He’d also be clingy as fuck, no matter what.

Oncie: contrary to popular belief, I think the crying uke battered wife Oncie I’ve seen quiet a few people complaining about is actually pretty close to how he’d be. Considering his reactions to being mistreated by his family and the townspeople (just kind of passively taking it, and not really fighting back) I think he would be the type to just kind of cower in a corner when threatened. There’s also a good chance he wouldn’t realize the relationship was bad and think he deserves the abuse, considering how isolated he’s been all his life and how he clearly doesn’t realize there’s something seriously fucked-up about his mom. He’d possibly be even harder than Ghinius to talk out of the situation.

Jiri: like Oncie, his lack of exposure to normal human interaction might make him blind to the true nature of the relationship until it was too late. Unlike Oncie, I think he’d have some idea what was happening to him wasn’t right, however even if he wanted to get out he might not have anywhere to go (ESPECIALLY if this is after the events of P2K).

Eusine: Eusine would be the abuser. This is fucking canon :V

Scar: unlike pretty much everyone else, Scar actually has this wonderful little thing called a spine and would take absolutely no crap. Go ahead, hit him. He’ll just drag everything you hold dear outside and light it on fire when you’re at work, then take your credit card and go out of his way to buy the most expensive shit he can, blackmail you, ruin your image, and possibly arrange for you to end up face down in the Green river. You fuck with him, and he’ll do something 10X worse in retaliation. It might not be immediately, but it’ll happen eventually and chances are will be when you least expect it. Hell hath no fury like a sassy gay lion scorned.

Cima and Kishiria: see Scar. You DO NOT fuck with these bitches. They put up with no crap. None. Hell, they’ll probably castrate the abuser on top of everything Scar would do. Assuming they don’t just put a bullet through their head and call it good.
